A beautiful website is always impressive to look at. But how do you know if it is doing the best job of selling your rooms?

For you to make sales online, people need to be able to find your site in search engines like Google. To make the most out of the traffic you get from these engines, your site must be designed with the visitor in mind, to entice them into wanting to stay at your hotel and then lead them straight into the booking process. But the job doesn’t end here. Running a successful website means never resting on your laurels – you must constantly be monitoring and measuring your goals in order to continue its success and maximise its potential.

There are three important stages to success with a hotel website – or any sales-driven website, for that matter.

  • First, drive traffic to the site via the search engines. This is called SEO – search engine optimisation.
  • Second, convert the visitors to sales once they’re on the site.
  • Third, measure, track and analyse the traffic and conversion to sales in order that you can constantly improve your site and tailor it to your customers’ needs.
