Praise for Italian sales blitzes, more planned
As part of Great Hotels Organisation’s commitment to generating business for its member hotels, the company has just completed three highly successful sales blitzes in Italy. GHO’s sales blitzes consist of a series of pre-scheduled appointments between hotels and representatives of specific markets. The Italian blitzes were a result of specific requests from members for additional sales and marketing assistance in the region.
The first two events took place in June and focused on the Italian MICE market. Delegates from the Hotel Palacio, Grande Real Santa Eulalia, Astir Palace, Hotel Majestic Barcelona and Pestana Alvor Praia travelled to Milan and Rome to take part in appointments scheduled by GHO’s Italian representatives Monica Badin and Giovanna de Barber.
In July, representatives from the Hotel Zürserhof, Badrutt’s Palace and The Bath Priory visited Milan and Rome to meet with a combination of luxury leisure agents and meeting planners.
The agents that took part were particularly impressed by the range and quality of the participating hotels, and many of the hotels received inquiries during the presentations. Laura Cumellas, Sales Manager at Hotel Majestic Barcelona, said of her trip: “Our week in Italy was wonderful. Monica Badin organised the visits well and we visited many interesting agents. Thank you for your co-operation.”
Due to demand further sales blitzes have been scheduled for Italy in September and October 2005. GHO is also planning a USA Meeting and Incentive Road Show in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia in September, and a Luxury Leisure Travel Road Show in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles in October.
