Key appointments at GHO
Great Hotels Organisation has appointed Richard Barnes as Managing Director – Hotel Representation and Boris Vrnoga to become Meetings & Incentives Sales Manager at GHO. In his new position as Managing Director – Hotel Representation, Richard Barnes (above left) takes control of GHO’s representation brands, Great Hotels of the World and Special Hotels of the World, as well as the GDS-connectivity-only product, Luxotels. Involved in the company’s development since its inception, he has been responsible for the streamlined account management department, the expansion of sales and marketing services and the launch of Meeting Forums.
“We have a tremendous history of growth in terms of brand status, the services we offer to members and the bookings we generate,” said Barnes. “The challenge is to continue to improve the service, value and bookings that we deliver so we can advance further in the luxury hotel marketplace.” Bringing his expertise in the meetings, incentives and conference market, Boris Vrnoga (below left) has joined Great Hotels Organisation, bolstering the alliance’s sales team. Vrnoga worked as Sales Manager and Account Manager at Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin in the Netherlands for five years, before relocating to London to become Meetings & Incentives Sales Manager at GHO. “I’m looking forward to working with members that need assistance in generating leads, sales and revenues from the MICE sector,” he commented. “I’ve worked with many international clients in the market, especially from the UK, and have accumulated a knowledge base of leading meeting and corporate planners.” At the company’s Meeting Forums, Vrnoga will play a central role as the facilitator of group business for hotels.
